Digital Pudding

The digitally encoded pudding contains the ultimate proof

The attempt at a weekly music column has fallen through for the time being. This page will continue to have my cd reviews, though. You should also check out The Jazz Review where I am also writing reviews.

I promise to review any cds that are sent to me sans a charge. That's not a promise of a positive review, just a review. If you are a musician or work at a record label and would like to send me free materials, please email me at micahth@umich.edu.

As far as the origins of this name, it comes from a review that I wrote. To read that review click here.

Enjoy.
Micah

O.k. as of right now -November 23- I am really overburdened with school work. For that reason, Digital Pudding will now be less than weekly. I am going to try to get my "20 best releases of the 1990s" article done but it will take time. I also hope to do an edition that looks at the 10 best of 1999.

This month's Digital Pudding.

Vernon Reid Mistaken Identity (Epic, 1996)

Nine to Get Ready (ECM, 1999) Yet another review of this great disc by Roscoe Mitchell and the Note Factory. This time it was for jazzreview.com. Click here to go to the review on that site. You will probably have to scroll down some.

Uncivilized Poise (Knitting Factory Records, 1999) I wrote another review of this disc for jazzreview.com. Click here to go to the review on that site. You will probably have to scroll down some.

Knitting on the Roof (Knitting Factory Records, 1999) I wrote this review for jazzreview.com. Click here to go to the review on that site. You will probably have to scroll down some.

In Walked Buckner (January 14, 2000) I wrote this review for jazzreview.com. Click here to go to the review on that site. You will probably have to scroll down some.
